Senior Accountant (part time or full time)
Our client, located in the Western Suburbs, is a leading distributor of high quality equipment. We are also open to someone who is looking for 30-40 hours per week.
We are hiring an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. If you're serious about your next job, we would love to hear from you! This position will be responsible for timely and accurate bookkeeping in accordance with standard accounting procedures, month end closing, financial statements, report generation, bank reconciliation, computing sales tax and filing and support of accounts payable and receivable procedures.
Work Environment
- Hybrid Work Model: 3 days per week in the office, 2 days work remotely.
- This role reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting work including general ledger, inventory, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with ME, QE, and YE close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including balance sheet and income statement preparation.
- Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and report on variance fluctuations.
- Evaluate processes-looking for opportunities to improve, simplify, and/or automate.
- Support ad hoc requests from Controller and various levels of the organization.
- Responsible for operational and financial reports for department managers, Controller, and other senior executives
- Assist in preparing and compiling budgets and YE financial reports.
- Manage the Sales Tax in ERP (Business Central) and Avalara.
- Collaborate closely with the Controller and AR/AP team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards
- Avalara and Sales tax experience a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of products; Intermediate to Advanced level skills in Excel
- Experience with ERP systems- Business Central a plus along with Power BI
- Collaborative approach to communication and problem-solving
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with precise detail and follow-up reporting.
- Ability to foster trust and build strong interpersonal connections with leadership teams.
