We are seeking a Corporate Controller who will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s accounting and finance functions. The selected candidate will provide information and analysis about company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s short and long-term future. Directly manages the accounting and finance department and works cross-functionally to ensure all business decisions are grounded in sound financial strategies. This position serves as a member of the leadership team and is expected to have a short track to CFO.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include: 

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates all accounting processes and procedures, identifies opportunities for process improvements, recommends and implements techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain current accounting practices.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, implementing and enforcing internal controls to ensure that company objectives are met.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data; recommending plans. Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget;
  • Identifies key monthly company metrics (A/R, A/P, inventory, cash, covenant compliance, etc.) and creates benchmarks for each. Reviews monthly with management.
  • Works with leadership team and owners to develop short and long-range business plans for the company. 
  • Prepares financial statements and provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data compared to budget and prior year.
  • Responsible for maintaining outside relationships with insurance vendors (business and employee benefits), payroll, audit/tax, banking professionals and other appropriate vendors.
  • Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the company.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in Public Accounting desirable; CPA certification
  • At least ten years’ experience in financial management
  • Experience in a manufacturing company highly desirable.
  • Solid foundation of accounting experience; including administrative and operational budgeting and forecasting
  • Prior experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial statements, and technical accounting
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
  • Good working knowledge of business systems and databases.
