The selected individual will develop and implement optimal cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards, recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, controls and equipment, coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products and lead the engineering and maintenance functions in a safe manner which meet/exceed customer expectations, and promote departmental innovation to the next level of continued sustainable growth, operations flexibility and innovative product mix to support and sustain accelerated growth.

The primary responsibilities of the position include:

  • Improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency (OEE)
  • Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment
  • Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
  • Perform product process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency
  • Drive to achieve and improve company Key Performance Indicators which include: Safety, Perfect Order Quality, On-time Delivery, and OEE
  • Drive and champion new technologies, collaborations and improved processes to define, leverage and implement best production practices including leading continuous improvements in cost reduction, production time and pipeline capacity using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing principles

The ideal candidate for Fischer will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or related field strongly desired.
  • At least 10 years in the manufacturing environment including several years in a management/leadership role.
  • Experience and/or training in safe work environments, capital improvement, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong decision-making ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
